Former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard tore into New York Rep.-elect George Santos over his fabrications about his personal and professional background during a tense Fox News interview.
Gabbard, who was filling in for host Tucker Carlson, didn’t mince words with Santos.
“If I were one of those in New York’s 3rd District right now, now that the election is over, and I’m finding out all of these lies that you’ve told, not just one little lie or one little embellishment — these are blatant lies — my question is, do you have no shame?” she asked.
“Do you have no shame? And the people who are now, you’re asking to trust you to go and be their voice for them, their families and their kids in Washington?”
Santos responded, saying he “can say the same thing about the Democrats.”
“Look at Joe Biden. Joe Biden has been lying to the American people for 40 years. He’s the president of the United States. Democrats resoundingly support him. Do they have no shame?” he said.
Gabbard interjected, saying that she wasn’t asking about the Democrats.
During various interviews this week, Santos admitted to “embellishing” his resume. But he’s also faced scrutiny for inaccurately representing himself as an “American Jew” and claiming that his grandparents fled the Nazis during World War II.
Gabbard pressed Santos on the subject during the “Tucker Carlson Tonight” interview.
“My heritage is Jewish. I’ve always identified as Jewish. I was raised as a practicing Catholic,” Santos said. “Not being raised a practicing Jew, I’ve always joked with friends and circles, even within the campaign, I’d say, guys, I’m ‘Jew-ish.’ Remember, I was raised Catholic.”
“So, look, I understand everybody wants to nitpick at me. I’m gonna reassure this once and for all. I’m not a facade. I’m not a persona. I have an extensive career that I worked really hard to achieve. And I’m going to deliver from my experience because I remain committed in delivering results for the American people,” he said.
Gabbard concluded the interview, saying: “Congressman-elect Santos, we’ve given you a lot of time. I think the time that is owed is to the people of New York’s 3rd. It’s hard to imagine how they could possibly trust your explanations when you’re not really even willing to admit the depth of your deception to them.”

Everyone thinks “SORRY” washes away the Deception and “Its ok because everyone does it?” – It doesnt and it isnt- a Liar is a Liar and once a liar, always a Liar and that person cant be trusted. Embellish is lying, mis-speaking is not a lie depending on the intent.
There is redemption, there is forgiveness, however when there is repentance that means you “Walk away” you stop whatever it is that is a weakness in your character, you admit you lied and tell the truth. Its simple its tired: CONFESSION

I see how this can happen, especially when you don’t have any understanding of integrity or ethics. The President of the United States, the press secretary, DHS head Myorkas all lie to us daily with no repercussions.
The President has lied his way through for 40+ years. This guy saw how cushy their lifestyle is and went for it.
The people of his district MUST find a way to force him out of office, we already have too many liars in our government, probably 80 percent of our elected officials. I’m Conservative by nature, usually vote Republican, and I think this guy would instantly be an ethical stain on the party.
