President Trump told House Republicans they must win the midterms or risk Democrats impeaching him. He said, “They’ll find a reason to impeach me. I’ll get impeached.”

He also argued that Democrats are “meaner” and “smart,” and that Republicans should have already impeached Biden for his actions.

Speaker Mike Johnson warned that losing the House would let the “radical left” impeach Trump and create “absolute chaos.”

Trump was impeached twice during his first term, but the Senate acquitted him both times. He denied wrongdoing, calling the impeachments political attacks. The House only needs a simple majority to impeach, but conviction in the Senate requires two-thirds.

Trump urged Republicans to stick together on social issues, healthcare, and reforms, reminding them that all House seats and a third of the Senate are up for grabs this November. Last year, Democrat wins have Republicans focused on lowering living costs and pushing their economic plan.

Some Democrat lawmakers, including Al Green and Shri Thanedar, pushed for impeachment, but attempts were blocked in the House. Democrats also brought up impeachment after U.S. forces captured Venezuela’s Nicolás Maduro, with lawmakers like Delia Ramirez declaring, “Trump must be impeached.”

Rep. Dan Goldman called a recent action by Trump an “impeachable offense.”

This year’s elections will decide who’s in charge and whether impeachment moves forward.
