Reigning league MVP Matthew Stafford and Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen both cracked the exclusive 99 Club, tying for the top quarterback rating in the game. Stafford got listed first, which probably didn’t sit well with Allen’s camp, but both signal callers earned the highest honor EA Sports hands out.

Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow landed at 97, good for third place. Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson came in fourth, while three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes — somehow — got slotted fifth with just a 93 rating. Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff rounded out the top 10 at 88, a solid mark for a guy who’s turned his career around in Motor City.

The 99 Club didn’t stop with quarterbacks. Wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Jaxon Smith-Njigba both earned perfect ratings, along with defensive end Myles Garrett and tight end Trey McBride. That’s elite company, and it reflects the dominance these players showed last season.

Smith-Njigba just became the highest-paid receiver in NFL history after helping Seattle win its second Super Bowl title back in February. The Seahawks locked him up with a four-year extension that reset the market. Chase, meanwhile, has topped 1,000 receiving yards every single season since 2021 — consistency that deserves recognition.

After Chase and Smith-Njigba, the wide receiver rankings went to Puka Nacua, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Justin Jefferson in the top five. Veteran Mike Evans, who bolted Tampa Bay for San Francisco this offseason, came in at No. 10. That’s respect for a guy who’s been a model of production year after year.

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs led all ball carriers with a 98 overall rating. Christian McCaffrey followed at 97 after bouncing back strong last season. Jonathan Taylor grabbed third and Bijan Robinson fourth, both at 95. Rams workhorse Kyren Williams rounded out the top 10 running backs.

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams landed the cover of “Madden NFL 27,” but he’s not satisfied with his current rating. Earlier this week, Williams said his goal is to crack the 99 Club before the season ends.

“If I get my completion percentage up, I’ll be a 99,” Williams said. “That’s how everybody feels about it. I don’t throw picks, I’m not a pick guy, never been a pick guy. Throw a few more touchdowns, keep the picks down and then just get the completion up.”

“Madden NFL 27” launches worldwide on August 13. MVP+ members get early access up to seven days before the official release. On the team side, the Rams earned the game’s top rating with a 93 overall — a nod to their championship-caliber roster.
