January 1, Spanked by a Drag Queen: Controversial Mayor in the Limelight Once Again

The mayor of Burbank, California, is making headlines yet again, but for reasons that many might find astonishing.

Last Saturday, Mayor Konstantine Anthony found himself at the center of controversy when he was seen being spanked by a drag queen at a fundraising event that, according to promotions, teenagers as young as 15 could attend.

Konstantine Anthony, who took over Burbank’s mayoral office just last year, was at a drag queen bingo event in Venice called “Roxy’s Got Balls!” The purpose of the evening was to raise funds for the Santa Clarity Valley Democrats.

The event was hosted by drag queen Roxy Wood, who shared a promo warning that the event was “not suitable for children,” yet clearly marketing it for attendees aged 15 and up.

Footage from the event has been making the rounds on social media. The video showcases a seemingly gleeful Mayor Anthony, positioning himself at the front, leaning against a table, while a drag queen donned in a rainbow-colored dress playfully spanked him with a paddle.

The video was quickly picked up and shared by the X account, Libs of TikTok, causing an immediate uproar.

In a digital back-and-forth with Libs of TikTok, Anthony initially defended the event as a “private 21+ event,” accusing the account of spreading falsehoods.

However, when presented with evidence of the event’s promotional material, which specified an age limit starting from 15, Anthony then countered, “Regardless of advertising, there were no children at the event,” further hinting at Libs of TikTok’s alleged inclination to “speculate and lie.”

Adding to the whirlwind of responses, BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales highlighted the inconsistency in Anthony’s statements, pointing out, “Bro you literally just acknowledged you’re the one who lied. It was not a 21+ event.”

Not shying away from the controversy, Anthony also responded to the Instagram video, cheekily asking those taking jabs at him: “Jealous???”

For those unfamiliar with Mayor Anthony, he is no stranger to the limelight. A member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists for two decades, he made the leap to politics in 2020. He secured a spot on the Burbank city council and quickly ascended to the role of mayor in 2022.

In addition, Anthony has been an executive board member of Burbank PFLAG since 2019. The organization, originally known as Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, now presents itself as a major supporter of the LGBTQ+ community.

Known for his strong stances and unique viewpoints, the Red State once described Anthony as a “socialist gadfly” and likened him to a “low-rent Gavin Newsom.”

This summer, he further raised eyebrows by staunchly defending the book “Gender Queer” on the WiseNuts podcast against allegations of it containing “sexualized” content.

Bottom Line

As Anthony campaigns for a seat on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, one has to wonder: Will these recent escapades bolster his reputation, or will they serve as a cautionary tale? Only time will tell.
