January 1, Pentagon Launches Investigation After Democrat Reveals Classified Details on National TV

Wyatt’s Take
- Arizona Senator who made seditious video now accused of blabbing classified briefing details on national television
- Pentagon legal counsel reviewing whether Democrat violated his oath — again — by discussing weapons stockpiles and readiness levels publicly
- This is the same lawmaker who told troops to defy orders, faced censure and demotion attempts, then got bailed out by activist judges
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is reviewing whether Sen. Mark Kelly violated his security oath after the Arizona Democrat discussed classified briefing details on CBS News. Kelly appeared on Face the Nation and spoke about weapons stockpiles following a classified Pentagon briefing on the Iran conflict.
The senator told host Margaret Brennan it’s “shocking how deep we have gone into these magazines” when asked about weapons depletion. He then proceeded to list specific weapons systems — Tomahawks, ATACMS missiles, SM-3 interceptors, THAAD rounds, and Patriot missiles — claiming stockpiles have been “hit hard” and will take years to replenish.
Kelly further suggested this depletion could harm America’s ability to respond to a Chinese attack. Secretary Hegseth wasn’t having it.
“‘Captain’ Mark Kelly strikes again,” Hegseth wrote on X.
“Now he’s blabbing on TV (falsely & dumbly) about a *CLASSIFIED* Pentagon briefing he received. Did he violate his oath… again? @DeptofWar legal counsel will review.”
This isn’t Kelly’s first run-in with the Defense Department. The former Navy pilot has been feuding with Hegseth for months over a controversial video Kelly made with five other Democratic lawmakers.
In that video, posted last fall, the group of Democrats — all claiming military or intelligence backgrounds — urged active-duty troops and intelligence personnel to ignore “illegal orders” from the Trump administration. The stunt prompted a DOJ investigation for potential sedition.
“This administration is pitting our uniformed military and intelligence community professionals against American citizens,” the lawmakers said in the video.
“Like us, you all swore an oath to protect and defend this Constitution. Right now, the threats coming to our Constitution aren’t just coming from abroad but from right here at home. Our laws are clear. You can refuse illegal orders. You must refuse illegal orders.”
The other Democrats in the video were Sens. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, and Reps. Chris Deluzio and Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire, and Jason Crow of Colorado. A grand jury ultimately declined to indict them in February.
President Donald Trump called the lawmakers “traitors” engaged in “sedition at the highest level” who “should be in jail.” He later suggested execution might be appropriate, though he walked that comment back.
The Pentagon launched its own investigation into Kelly last November, pointing to federal law allowing retired service members to be recalled to active duty for court-martial. Hegseth formally censured Kelly and moved to retroactively demote him from his retired rank of captain.
But a federal judge blocked the demotion in January, ruling the Pentagon likely violated Kelly’s First Amendment rights and those of “millions of military retirees.” The court’s decision came despite Kelly’s participation in what many saw as encouraging insubordination among active-duty personnel.
Hegseth appealed that ruling. Last week, a three-judge panel on the D.C. Circuit Court heard oral arguments and appeared skeptical of the Pentagon’s case.
“I will not back down from this fight,” Kelly said after the hearing.
Now Kelly faces potential legal trouble again — this time for allegedly revealing classified information on national television. The Pentagon’s legal counsel will review his CBS appearance to determine if he crossed the line.
Why It Matters
When elected officials treat classified briefings like campaign talking points, they put our troops and national security at risk. Whether it’s telling soldiers to ignore orders or blabbing about weapons stockpiles on Sunday morning TV, some Democrats seem to think the rules don’t apply to them. Working Americans who handle sensitive information at their jobs would be fired — or prosecuted. Why should a senator be any different?

Typical democrat. He’s actually siding with our enemies as democrats always do. It’s time to make an example out of this traitor. The republicans need to stop always just screwing around and do their job. Prosecute Kelly, bused on his own words.

This wasn’t a slip of the tongue. Kelly isn’t a stupid man…. irresponsible, arrogant and foolish, yes, but unable to distinguish between political fodder and classified information??….no.
Kelly knew exactly what he was doing in this instance and in the recent others.
Republicans need to either prosecute these people or prepare to be voted out of office in favor of those who will.
Grow a pair…. Enough is enough!!!
