Wyatt’s Take

  • Over 100 vehicles collided during a fierce Michigan snowstorm.
  • Thirty semi trucks were involved, shutting down the interstate in both directions.
  • Police expect the cleanup to take hours, but thankfully, there’s no loss of life.

Heavy snow led to a giant pileup of more than 100 cars and trucks on Michigan’s I-196. Officials say the crash forced police to close the road both ways and call for immediate help.

“There have been multiple injuries, but no deaths reported,” Michigan State Police said.

Drone shots on Monday showed the scene packed with vehicles, some mangled, as crews rushed to remove them. Police said clearing the wreck would likely take several hours.

This storm is part of a winter front that hit much of the U.S. The National Weather Service says states like Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York are also facing bitter cold.

Unusually, the snow reached down to Florida’s Panhandle, a rare sight for the region.

Stay alert if you’re heading out, and keep tuned for more updates.
