January 1, Judges Guide Sparks Outcry Over Climate Bias

Wyatt’s Take
- Legal experts warn a widely used judges’ guide is pushing climate activism in the courts.
- The guide features authors tied to climate lawsuits and groups under investigation.
- Some say it’s meant to sway judges toward the green agenda, not real science.
Folks are up in arms about a massive new manual given to federal judges. Critics say this guide—used as a gold standard in courtrooms—is filled with one-sided climate change claims and is no longer neutral.
A big chunk of the manual cites climate activists and lawyers, including Jessica Wentz, who leads a project that’s being investigated by the government. Another chapter is written by a climate scientist known for taking on fossil fuels in the courts.
“The Committee on the Judiciary is investigating allegations of improper attempts by the Environmental Law Institute (ELI) and its Climate Judiciary Project (CJP) to influence federal judges,” read a statement from Congressmen Jim Jordan and Darrell Issa.
Wentz has written about climate lawsuits and even backed Obama-era regulations in court. She’s listed as the main author of the controversial section, along with other academics who work with her on climate legal issues.
The House Judiciary Committee says there’s proof these groups want to tip the scales in favor of climate plaintiffs. They warn this could rig court cases about energy, industry, and the future of American jobs.
“It is alarming to see how far the Left has gone in its blatant effort to capture the judiciary. Its feeding of trial lawyers’ climate ‘science’ to sitting judges who will decide contentious litigation in this area short-circuits our system of justice,” said Carrie Severino, president of the Judicial Crisis Network.
Michael Fragoso, a former top lawyer for Senator Mitch McConnell, called the climate section “shockingly inappropriate” and says it repeats arguments made by lawyers who are already suing energy companies.
Fragoso warns the manual lets lawyers who are suing explain the science to judges, which could badly tilt the field: “Given that attribution is at the heart of these lawsuits, it’s shocking that the Judicial Center would let a plaintiff lawyer ‘explain’ it to judges. It’s even worse that it’s hidden in a random footnote.”
The climate section even points to a controversial book that claims American energy companies mislead the public. Its author, Michael Mann, is known for legal showdowns and attacks on conservatives.
When asked to explain the bias concerns, Wentz said “no comment.” Mann did not reply.
Legal watchdogs warn that if these guides keep sliding left, it could threaten fair trials for families, workers, and companies in the heartland. They want Congress and courts to restore real balance and truth in the system.
Wyatt Matters
Heartland folks know courts should be about fairness, not politics. Guides like this show why Washington needs to remember who they serve: everyday Americans who want a level playing field and honest justice.

If only things were that simple. God’s magnificent Earth IS in grave danger. The problem with so-called democrats is that they’re lying hypocrites (and doers of evil) to their core. They’ve talked the talk ad nauseum, but have done next to nothing to save our precious, imperiled planet.
Conservative and conservation aren’t just similar words – they’re EQUIVALENT!
God gave ALL of us jobs to do. Work should not – and must not – involve pillaging Earth non-stop and disintegrating its outer and internal structures, to make less than 1% of the world population obscenely rich, while billions struggle. That’s not only unjust, but by no means environmentally sustainable. We don’t need Hollywood, pro sports teams, olympics, air travel, cryptocurrencies, etc. Indeed, we don’t even need cars. Cars are destroying our planet and ALL its life.
If the United States, respected and emulated by the whole world, insists on leading the way in promoting and causing Earth’s irreversible destruction, we’ll lose the great inventions we DO need, which make our lives so much easier and safer: refrigeration, heating and cooling, electricity, indoor plumbing…. We’ll lose it all.
Those of us who love God and His works, and strive to serve Him, must not let God doubters or God’s enemies talk us into believing it’s ok to destroy what HE created. It isn’t.
Years and decades have passed and got away, and the forces of darkness orchestrated wins time and time again, using deception, distraction, invalidation, censorship and evil trickery. Democrats – yes, democrats – were front and center in that in the last three decades. Time is running out to put God and His amazing, fragile, irreplaceable Earth first.
