In the latest chapter of an ongoing Republican-led investigation, Arizona Representative Andy Biggs made the staggering claim on Fox Business that the Biden family has reportedly amassed upwards of $100 million from various business dealings.
The GOP-led House Oversight Committee’s probe into the alleged criminal activities connected to President Biden and his son, Hunter, continues to garner significant attention.
James Comer, the Oversight Committee Chairman, teased “disturbing” revelations arising from fresh whistleblower testimony.
For years, the GOP has alleged that the Bidens profited significantly from Burisma, a Ukrainian gas company.
Recently, leaked text exchanges between Hunter and Chinese businessmen have further stirred the pot.
“People wonder, you know, is Joe Biden basically compromised as vis-a-vis the Chinese Communist Party, which runs China, of course,” Biggs told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo.
“And these things begin to look real. And we’re talking, Maria, we’re talking literally—it’s not $10 million. It’s well over $20, $30 million in some estimates, as high as $100 million flowing through these accounts.”
Biggs did not provide direct evidence for these claims but reiterated his belief that the Biden administration, along with their partisans and supporters, has been slow to respond.
The investigation now also appears to be scrutinizing President Biden’s real estate holdings, questioning how a lifelong public servant can afford multiple properties.
To this, Biggs suggested examining the shell companies, such as Burisma, involved in private business dealings.
Gary Shapley is an IRS supervisory agent and one of the whistleblowers who publicly expressed desire to investigate the Biden family but faced obstacles.
According to CBS News, Shapley was not permitted to follow through on his probe into Hunter’s purported $2.2 million owed in back taxes between 2014 and 2019.
Hunter Biden’s attorneys have since reached a plea deal on misdemeanor tax offenses—a move Republicans, including House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, decry as a “sweetheart deal.”
New whistleblower testimony from a former FBI supervisory special agent assigned to the Biden criminal investigation allegedly confirms key aspects of Shapley’s account, according to Comer.
“On the day of the Hunter Biden interview, federal agents were told to stand by and could not approach Hunter Biden—they had to wait for his call,” Comer said.
The planned interview, set to take place on December 8, 2020, never occurred.
Earlier this week, the House Oversight Committee put out the “Bidens’ Influence Peddling Timeline.”
“Today, we are releasing a timeline of the Biden family’s influence peddling schemes,” the committee tweeted on Tuesday.
“President Biden has repeatedly denied knowing anything about his family’s business dealings despite evidence to the contrary.”
“Our timeline contains important dates as to when Joe Biden knew and lied to the American people about his family’s business schemes.”
