January 1, Florida Under Fire: LGBTQ+ Groups and NAACP Issue Travel Warnings

Published

on

Florida is once again at the center of a national controversy, thanks to a travel advisory issued by LGBT advocacy groups the Human Rights Campaign and Equality Florida. These groups claim the state’s recent laws are hostile to the LGBTQ+ community. But are we dealing with the truth, or is it more political theater?

The allegations revolve around Florida’s laws that supposedly prohibit the teaching of gender identity in schools and ban diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. I’m an old school cowboy, and I believe in fairness and straight talk. If you ask me, I’d say these laws aim to return some sanity to our education system.

The words of Kelley Robinson, president of the Human Rights Campaign, are riddled with the type of heated rhetoric that’s more about scoring political points than addressing the issue. Her claims that Governor DeSantis is weaponizing his position to promote hate and discrimination seem to be more of a personal attack than an objective analysis. Aren’t we tired of such political grandstanding?

In an interesting turn of events, the NAACP also jumped into the fray, echoing the sentiments of these LGBT groups and claiming that Florida is openly hostile towards African Americans, people of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I reckon this is another case of political fearmongering designed to stir up resentment.

In a classic move that would make any rugged individualist proud, Florida’s Senator Rick Scott didn’t take these accusations lying down. He issued his own advisory warning socialists and communists to think twice before heading to the Sunshine State. According to Scott, Florida isn’t too keen on those who support the Biden Administration’s socialist-leaning policies. Now that’s some good old-fashioned political humor!

Folks, let’s take a step back. This country was built on freedom of thought, individual responsibility, and the ability to have a good laugh. We’ve got to stop this rush to demonize people, states, or ideas that don’t fit the popular narrative.

What happened to the land of the free and the home of the brave? Are we a nation where diversity of thought and opinions is celebrated, or are we moving towards a society where certain ideas are silenced, and groupthink is encouraged?

It’s time we hold on to our constitutional freedoms and encourage open dialogue and understanding. Let’s look past the political smokescreens, and remember what makes this country truly great..

Florida seems like a nice place to retire – they don’t care (as I) that the whiny deviant mentally ill groups boycott their state – it’s a win-win for Florida.

BS! I am a gay man and there is absolutely no reason why it is unsafe to go to Florida. Many of our friends who lived in Palm Springs have moved to Florida because of needles, feces, urine, crime, and homeless out of control in CA! We live in Chicago and also moving due to the city being an utter cesspool from gangs, shootings, lootings, illegals, homeless and other leftist garbage!

NAACP and the leftist LGBTQ can go F themselves! They are doing nothing except helping destroy this country including this administration! There are many G&L that do NOT agree with the left, trannys, or the left one bit! Parents MUST protect their children and we better do something to get this screwed up kids in universities straightened out!

While many may not agree with the lifestyle there are many of us that respect people’s positions, especially when it comes to not shoving our lifestyles in peoples faces and the purity of children and not being influenced, and just trying to make a living and have insurance for our spouse and families!
The left and LGBTQ have derailed and I WILL NOT stand by them any longer! GOD still comes first and foremost!

We also have Religious guidelines. Marriage is between one born male meaning having a penis and testes and one born female meaning having a vagina and Uterus.
Period. The controversy in man made vs. Religious beliefs. There is No way any devout Catholic will agree to same gender marriages. What two men of two women do behind closed doors is their business, no one else’s. However, I do believe transgendered people should compete against each other in sports competitions. And,since transgender people MUST be on HORMONE REPLACEMENT MEDICATION for the remainder of one’s Life means this procedure benefits Big Pharma ONLY. However, it’s that person’s choice. If the want to mutilate their body and are adult age, so be it, but stay away from sports unless ity against other trans people of the sand surgery.
