Wyatt’s Take

  • Democratic Florida Rep. Maxwell Frost was attacked at a high-profile film festival.
  • The suspect, Christian Young, allegedly made racist remarks before the assault.
  • Police arrested Young at the scene, charging him with multiple offenses.

Rep. Maxwell Frost of Florida said he got punched in the face Friday at the Sundance Film Festival. Frost says the attack in a bathroom was racially charged, and the man who hit him talked about Trump and deportation before swinging.

The Park City Police Department named the suspect as Christian Young. Police say Young forced his way into a private party after getting turned away, then allegedly assaulted Frost and another woman once inside.

“Last night, I was assaulted by a man at Sundance Festival who told me that Trump was going to deport me before he punched me in the face,” Frost posted on X. “He was heard screaming racist remarks as he drunkenly ran off. The individual was arrested, and I am okay.”

Young now faces charges, including aggravated burglary and two simple assault counts, after being booked in Summit County Jail. Frost thanked security and police, and confirmed he was doing fine after the ordeal.

Stay alert and look after each other, even in public spaces. If you see something wrong, step in or call for help.

More attempts to stir racial animosity; so many people simply do not understand that our nation needs healing, not agitation and aggression. What ever happened to MLK’s “I have a dream”?? Please, let there be peace among us – – -it does not matter the color of your skin – -what matters is what is in your mind and your heart; please, let’s all work and pray to heal this terrible animosity.

It’s a shame according to a few others, the guy was drinking. But the racial verbiage used was no where near what was stated. Just another politician trying to grab some spotlight. Why do they always LIE.
