January 1, Epstein Files Shake Elites, Raise Tough Questions

Wyatt’s Take

  • FBI found proof of Epstein abusing young girls, but not enough to charge a powerful sex-trafficking ring.
  • Big names, including politicians and billionaires, kept close ties to Epstein despite his crimes.
  • Fresh documents pull top officials into the light and unsettle the political world.

The latest Epstein case files made it clear—while the FBI confirmed his abuse of underage girls, they could not prove a wider trafficking conspiracy among the wealthy. Still, these files show the rich and powerful rubbed shoulders with Epstein and accepted his gifts.

Attorney General Pam Bondi admits the Justice Department is still investigating Epstein’s activities, even as these new records offer the clearest look yet at the man and his connections.

The FBI, after years of digging and pulling evidence from Epstein’s homes, found damning photos and videos—some showed apparent minors, some showed other crimes. Yet, then-Assistant U.S. Attorney Maurene Comey told the FBI they never found any footage of others being abused or more criminals than Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

“We did not, however, locate any such videos,” Comey said.

Even so, Epstein’s connections ran deep. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, a Trump appointee, faced heat after the files showed he visited Epstein’s private island in 2012, years after claiming he cut ties. Senate pressure forced Lutnick to admit to the visit but he denied seeing any wrongdoings and said his family was with him.

Microsoft’s Bill Gates also landed back in the headlines after Epstein’s own emails accused him of seeking hush help over personal matters. Gates denied Epstein’s claims and called the draft emails false, telling the press he regrets ever meeting Epstein.

“Every minute I spent with him, I regret, and I apologize that I did that,” Gates said.

The files also mention a range of global figures: Bill Clinton, Steve Bannon, and Lord Peter Mandelson. Payments made by Epstein to Mandelson rattled Britain’s political scene, as he now serves as Ambassador to the United States.

These files shine a harsh light on how closely the powerful kept company with Epstein—raising questions for anyone who believes ordinary people get the same treatment as elites.
