January 1, DSA Backs Maduro Amid U.S. Crackdown
Wyatt’s Take
- The DSA is leading rallies in the U.S. to oppose Maduro’s arrest and support socialism in Venezuela.
- Protests are backed by leftist groups with financial and leadership ties to foreign interests.
- The DSA calls Trump’s action “imperialist” and demands Maduro’s release and an end to sanctions.
The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), heavily linked to New York City’s mayor, is supporting Nicolas Maduro, even as he sits in a U.S. jail. The DSA has organized nationwide protests, demanding his release and calling U.S. action against Maduro an attack on Venezuela’s sovereignty.
The group points to its history of “solidarity” with socialist regimes like Maduro’s and has coordinated with other far-left organizations for a “Day of Action.” They accuse the Trump administration of waging an imperialist war to control Venezuela’s oil and oppose sanctions that target the regime.
Funding and leadership ties between the DSA and foreign-backed networks, including those with connections to China, have strengthened these rallies. The DSA’s website features years of open support for Maduro and the Bolivarian Revolution, positioning itself against U.S. policy in Latin America.
Protest organizers claim, “The Trump Administration has kidnapped Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and started a blatantly criminal war against Venezuela. These are nakedly imperialist acts to install a U.S. puppet government that will give Venezuela’s oil resources over to US corporations.”
The Department of State calls Maduro’s regime corrupt and illegitimate, supporting the opposition instead. Still, the DSA and its partners continue to rally U.S. activists to fight sanctions, criticize Trump’s approach, and align themselves with pro-Maduro causes.
Wyatt Matters
Middle America knows the value of truth and hard work, and recognizes the real cost when American interests are pushed aside for foreign political movements. Our values stand against socialist overreach and for American sovereignty first.
