January 1, Communist Cuba Collapsing Before Our Eyes: Steep Population Decline Due to Aging Citizens, Low Birth Rates, and Mass Migration

The Castro regime in Cuba admitted over the weekend that the country’s population is in steep decline. The fall is attributed to a rapidly growing elderly population, low birth rates, and the most significant migration crisis in the nation’s history.

Juan Carlos Alfonso Fraga, the deputy chief of Cuba’s National Office of Statistics and Information (ONEI), reported in a press conference that the population was estimated at 11,082,964 by the end of March, down from 11,089,500 just one month earlier. He also noted that Cuba saw 95,403 births in 2022, down from 99,096 in 2021, leading to a fertility rate of 1.41 children per woman, which is below the 2.1 fertility rate required for population replacement.

Furthermore, he noted that the average life expectancy in Cuba is around 77 years, with the elderly population now constituting 22.3 percent of the total population.

Diego Enrique González, the chief of ONEI, indicated that none of the scenarios studied by the Cuban statistics office predicts Cuba reaching a population of 12 million. He also warned that if the current trends continue, Cuba’s population could drop from its current 11 million to fewer than nine million people by 2054.

The decline in Cuba’s population is partly attributed to mass migration. The worsening state of the nation’s infrastructure and economy, characterized by daily power outages, severe shortages of food, medicine, and fuel, and limited access to healthcare, has resulted in the worst migration crisis in Cuban history.

Around 300,000 Cubans arrived at the U.S. border in 2022 alone, fleeing from communism. This situation has prompted speculation that Cuba’s actual population may be significantly lower than the 11 million reported by the Castro regime. Cuban historian Mario Valdés Navia estimated the country’s actual population to be around 10.5 million in February.

It’s relocated to Canada. Justin Castreau is the dictator up there. He’s Fidel’s bastard son, so it’s a perfect transition.

As a migrating voting block, providing idiot Biden grants these people voting rights, lets all hope that if indeed they are fleeing communism they will vote against democrats who are trying as hard as they can to turn the USA into a communist hell hole.

Absolutely true. Under Biden too, the population of the US is more than doubling due to his open border. Pretty soon, if it has not occured yet, there will be more foreign born people here than legal Americans, NOt only that, there will be more foreigners here that legal Americans has to support. IMPEACH BIDEN ASAP.

That is what historically has happened. Look at Cubans in Miami who mostly vote Republican. Cubans know the signs of socialism and vote accordingly. We don’t want this country to become like the one we escaped from.

Is a “Biden Family Crime Member” running Cuba too, now that Fidel is gone?

What is happening in this wonderful country is exactly the same that happened in Cuba. Sadly if we do not stop this communist government we will become like Cuba, Venezuela and so many other countries that will be long list to mention. As a Cuban refugee that came more than 50 years ago, and a proudly an American cityzen my heart breaks to see how liberties are in peril. Please America wake up before communism takes over and our freedom will be gone for ever!

You are right I am old enough to remember when it was all happening . I lived in Ft Lauderdale for part of the first wave of people arriving from Cuba to the US. Before Castro, Americans could go to Cuba for the day, spending their money, sight seeing and return in the afternoon. Our young people have been so indoctrinated they can’t see the forest for the trees. The people of the US have had it so good they can’t comprehend that the US can go the same way of Cuba and Venezuela. But there will be no place for them to go as you had. I am glad you made it God Bless you.

And young people in the USA are being sold the idea that socialism is the “good, kind” way to think and run a country! The truth is that Capitalism has risen the standard of living to the highest level for a greater percentage of a population than any other culture!! Freedom and opportunity are what create happy satisfied people. Work hard and anything is possible.
