January 1, UNHINGED: Woke Sports Host Drags Trump Into NBA Meltdown

Wyatt’s Take

  • Liberal ESPN talking head can’t even cover basketball without dragging Trump into it — classic Trump Derangement Syndrome on full display
  • Instead of analyzing the game, leftist media personalities obsess over political cheap shots, proving they care more about pushing propaganda than sports
  • This is exactly why millions of working Americans have tuned out mainstream sports coverage — can’t watch a basketball game without woke lectures

ESPN personality Max Kellerman couldn’t help himself during a recent NBA playoff discussion. Instead of sticking to basketball analysis, he decided to take a bizarre shot at President Trump while criticizing Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden’s poor performance.

Harden struggled mightily in a crucial playoff game, and any normal sports commentator would have left it at that. But Kellerman, suffering from a clear case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, somehow managed to connect a basketball player’s bad night to the 45th President of the United States.

“James Harden played like he was taking advice from Trump’s economic team,”

Kellerman quipped during the broadcast segment, drawing groans from co-hosts and eye-rolls from viewers across America.

The comment represents everything wrong with modern sports media. Fans tune in to escape politics and enjoy athletic competition, but liberal commentators like Kellerman can’t resist injecting their woke talking points into every conversation. It doesn’t matter if they’re covering football, basketball, or Little League — if there’s a microphone nearby, there’s a Trump insult coming.

Harden’s playoff struggles are a legitimate sports story worthy of analysis. The veteran guard shot poorly, turned the ball over repeatedly, and failed to deliver when his team needed him most. That’s the story. That’s what fans wanted to hear about.

Instead, Kellerman decided to shoehorn in a political jab that had absolutely nothing to do with basketball. It’s this kind of nonsense that has driven millions of sports fans away from ESPN and toward alternative outlets that actually focus on the games.

The Trump economy delivered record-low unemployment, rising wages for working Americans, and energy independence. Meanwhile, Kellerman’s network has hemorrhaged viewers year after year as fans grow tired of the constant political grandstanding.

Social media lit up immediately after Kellerman’s comments, with frustrated sports fans calling out the unnecessary politicization. One viewer summed it up perfectly:

“Can’t even watch basketball anymore without these clowns making it about Trump. Just talk about the game.”

This isn’t an isolated incident. Sports media has become increasingly hostile to conservative values and Trump supporters over recent years. Athletes who express support for traditional American values face mockery and backlash, while those who parrot liberal talking points receive praise and protection from the mainstream sports press.

The double standard is glaring. When left-wing athletes make political statements, they’re celebrated as brave and courageous. When conservative athletes express their views, they’re told to “shut up and dribble.”

Kellerman’s unnecessary Trump comparison during what should have been a straightforward basketball analysis is just the latest example of how far sports media has fallen. These commentators seem more interested in scoring political points than providing quality sports coverage.

Why It Matters

Working Americans want to watch sports without getting lectured by coastal elites about politics. We turn on the game to see competition, teamwork, and excellence — not to hear another woke talking head’s Trump obsession. When media personalities can’t separate sports from their political agenda, they lose the audience that pays their bills. Maybe that’s why alternative sports coverage keeps growing while networks like ESPN keep shrinking.

Now it’s time to say good bye to ESPN, they can’t help themselves. Just do the play by play, that’s all they’re good for. Keep the political bullshit out of it.

I never watch any of their ‘shows’. All I watch is streaming ballgames on ESPN.

You might want to explain just when this happened. Kellerman hasn’t been on ESPN for years, and Harden isn’t on the Clippers, he a member of the Cavaliers. Just sayin’
