The United States Coast Guard has ended its search for the six people aboard a missing air ambulance.

The Federal Aviation Administration lost contact with the aircraft over the weekend.

“The decision to suspend the search was made after extensive efforts yielded no results,” a Coast Guard spokesperson stated.

“Our thoughts remain with the families of those on board,” the spokesperson added.
