Wyatt’s Take

  • Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League win sparked massive riots across Paris, with fires set, shops destroyed, and a police station nearly overrun
  • At least 45 arrests were made as mobs torched vehicles, vandalized businesses, and clashed with law enforcement throughout the French capital
  • This is the second straight year PSG celebrations turned violent — last year saw 201 injuries and over 500 arrests nationwide

At least 45 people were arrested in Paris on Saturday after celebrations over Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League victory descended into total chaos. Fires were set, businesses vandalized, and crowds clashed with police across the French capital.

Police detained dozens as massive crowds gathered throughout Paris following PSG’s victory over Arsenal in the Champions League final. Large groups swarmed the Arc de Triomphe, setting off flares and blaring car horns as authorities struggled to maintain control.

Law enforcement worked overtime trying to contain thousands of people gathered along the famous Champs-Élysées boulevard. But the situation quickly spiraled out of control.

According to authorities, a group of individuals actually attempted to storm a police station in the French capital late Saturday night. The Paris police prefecture reported that rioters vandalized shops, set multiple fires, and torched vehicles during the unrest.

A bakery and a restaurant were damaged during the disturbances, police confirmed. Authorities also said a crowd briefly blocked the main ring road surrounding the entire city before police managed to disperse the gathering.

One police officer was injured in the mayhem, according to law enforcement officials. As of 10 p.m. local time, police had arrested at least 45 people.

The violence erupted after PSG defeated Arsenal in what’s being called one of the club’s biggest achievements on the European stage. But for Parisians just trying to live their lives, the “celebration” looked more like a riot.

This isn’t the first time PSG fans have turned their city into a battleground. After the club won the Champions League title last year, violent celebrations resulted in 201 people injured in Paris alone. More than 500 arrests were made across France.

That’s right — this is becoming an annual tradition of destruction and lawlessness in one of Europe’s most famous cities.

Why It Matters

While European elites lecture Americans about gun violence and civility, their own cities can’t handle a soccer game without descending into riots. This isn’t about celebrating victory — it’s about thugs using any excuse to destroy property and attack police. Meanwhile, hardworking business owners see their livelihoods torched by mobs. No amount of European sophistication can hide the reality that law and order is breaking down across the continent.

Imma little confused. When riots, burning, looting and mayhem happens here, it’s usually because a murderer, rapist, child molester, usually a black criminal or illegal is arrested for doing any or all those things and democrats are trying to protect them. But In Europe they do it because they win a soccer match?!
