January 1, Canada Just Made a MASSIVE Mistake

Wyatt’s Take
- Canada walked away from a trade deal that would’ve benefited them far more than us — their loss, not ours
- U.S. officials are shaking their heads at how badly Ottawa fumbled this negotiation
- America holds all the cards in North American trade, and our neighbors just proved they don’t know how to play them
A major trade agreement between the United States and Canada has collapsed, and Washington insiders are calling it exactly what it is: a catastrophic blunder by our neighbors to the north. U.S. officials aren’t mincing words about who dropped the ball on this one.
The failed negotiations represent what American trade representatives are describing as a “missed opportunity for Canada” — diplomatic speak for a self-inflicted wound that didn’t have to happen.
Canada had a chance to lock in favorable terms with the world’s largest economy and walked away empty-handed. Meanwhile, American negotiators are already moving on to other priorities, leaving Ottawa to explain to Canadian workers and businesses why they couldn’t seal the deal.
The collapse comes at a time when global trade relationships are being redrawn and economic alliances are shifting. Canada’s failure to capitalize on this moment may haunt them for years to come, while the United States continues to leverage its economic strength on the world stage.
For American workers and businesses, the message is clear: we don’t need Canada more than they need us. Our economy remains the engine of North American prosperity, and any country that wants access to our markets needs to bring serious proposals to the table.
Wyatt Matters
This is what happens when countries take America for granted. We’ve been the backbone of North American trade for generations, and when our neighbors decide to play hardball or drag their feet, they’re the ones who lose out. Hardworking Americans don’t need to worry — our economy is strong enough to thrive with or without deals that don’t serve our interests first. Canada just learned that lesson the hard way.

Canada used to be a great country but the people running it now are a bunch of nuts. no common sense. when young people try to run something they almost always screw it up.

Have u ever heard, don’t bite the hand, that helps, feed u. U can’t fix stupid, just ask Carney. These northerners are becoming, very hostile, be careful, what u wish for. We are the power, that makes the world turn. U are only going to hurt yourselves, in any trade deals.

I’m so pro American. However thus article shoes complete ignorance re Canadian ethos. Very disappointed. What happens now is most interesting. CANADIANS will dig in. I personally don’t appreciate Carney, but this reply to the brutal uncaring illogical Trump negotiation, if not immediately rescinded, will damage America for a long time.

That comment about this “will damage America for a long time” makes no sense. Canada walked away from the table like the goofs they are not us. I believe the USA can and will definitely survive this without much effort, not sure about Canada.
