Wyatt’s Take

  • Trump says no federal help for cities unless requested.
  • Promises to defend federal buildings against riots.
  • Cities must ask for backup, and show respect, to get it.

President Trump told the country he won’t send federal help to cities with protests and riots unless those cities specifically ask for it.

He posted,

“I have instructed Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, that under no circumstances are we going to participate in various poorly run Democrat Cities with regard to their Protests and/or Riots unless, and until, they ask us for help.”

Trump did say he would always defend federal buildings from damage or attacks.

He wrote,

“We will, however, guard, and very powerfully so, any and all Federal Buildings that are being attacked by these highly paid Lunatics, Agitators, and Insurrectionists.”

He made it clear that people who attack police or damage property will face serious consequences.

Trump stated,

“There will be no spitting in the faces of our Officers, there will be no punching or kicking the headlights of our cars, and there will be no rock or brick throwing at our vehicles, or at our Patriot Warriors. If there is, those people will suffer an equal, or more, consequence.”

He reminded local and state leaders they are responsible for keeping order in their own communities.

Trump said,

“You must protect your own State and Local Property. In addition, it is your obligation to also protect our Federal Property, Buildings, Parks, and everything else. We are there to protect Federal Property, only as a back up, in that it is Local and State Responsibility to do so.”

Trump pointed to last year’s Los Angeles riots, saying leaders should not be afraid to ask for help when things get out of hand.

He recalled federal action during that crisis, quoting police leadership as saying,

“We couldn’t have done it without the help of the Federal Government.”

This all happened after strict immigration raids led to violent riots in Los Angeles in 2025.

There were arrests, curfews, and the National Guard was brought in.

Trump finished by saying he’ll help any city that clearly asks for it and shows they are willing to cooperate.

He said,

“To all complaining Local Governments, Governors, and Mayors, let us know when you are ready, and we will be there — But, before we do so, you must use the word, ‘PLEASE’,”

If you care about peace in your hometown, keep an eye on which leaders step up and take responsibility.

Wyatt Matters

Leaders who value law and order know that asking for help isn’t weakness—it’s about protecting families and businesses. Americans deserve leaders who won’t let their cities fall apart because of politics or pride.
