Wyatt’s Take

  • Millions in cash left Minneapolis airport in Somali couriers’ luggage under President Biden’s watch.
  • The amount dwarfed cash leaving other major airports, raising suspicions among law enforcement.
  • Congress faces pressure to tighten laws after this shocking discovery.

Officials say the outflow of cash from Minnesota through the Minneapolis airport was unusual and should have triggered alarms sooner. Homeland Security reports show the amount of money leaving through Somali couriers was 10 to 100 times higher than totals at bigger airports nationwide.

Transportation Security Administration agents flagged nearly $700 million moved in luggage from Minneapolis in just 2024 and 2025. Some of this cash traveled through Amsterdam and on to Dubai, a route mentioned by intelligence agencies.

“It was like a cash ATM draining American dollars and moving them overseas, and nobody in the Biden administration seemed to think anything of it,” an official said.

In just two years, Minneapolis travelers carried $342 million in 2024 and $349 million in 2025, with numbers possibly higher across the country. The official numbers show 99 percent more money left Minneapolis compared to airports in Dallas, Atlanta, or New York’s JFK. Totals in Seattle were also much lower than in Minneapolis.

Even though the cash was legally declared, frequent million-dollar bundles raised red flags with TSA staff. Homeland Security is now investigating this as part of a massive fraud case tied to Minnesota’s Somali community, where many have already faced federal charges.

Rep. Jeff Crank, R-Colo., said Congress must act to give authorities more oversight, especially with money leaving the country from those here illegally.

“We have to do it. It’s embarrassing that Congress hasn’t done this before,” Crank said. “These are financial controls that any company would have on corporate money. Any good company would have it. The board of directors would fire them if they didn’t. I don’t know why in the world we wouldn’t have those kinds of controls.”

Middle America can’t afford to look the other way when billions leave the country with no questions asked. Stay alert for more updates as the investigation continues.
