Wyatt’s Take

  • Pantone named a plain white—’Cloud Dancer’—as its 2026 color of the year.
  • Liberals on social media claim the choice is ‘racist’ and out of touch.
  • America’s culture war now even extends to paint colors.

Pantone’s 2026 ‘color of the year’ is called Cloud Dancer, a simple shade of white.

The company says this bright choice means clarity and a chance for new beginnings.

Cloud Dancer was picked after looking at trends and culture, with leaders saying it provides “release from the distraction of external influences.”

“At this time of transformation, when we are reimagining our future and our place in the world, PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer is a discrete white hue offering a promise of clarity,”

said Pantone’s Executive Director.

Pantone claims the shade is balanced, drawing from natural things like feathers, and hopes it will spark creativity and fresh thinking.

For 2025, they picked a brown color called Mocha Mousse.

Now, their switch to white is making waves.

Marketing displays a woman dressed in white facing a sky full of clouds. Besides wall art, Cloud Dancer is being used in partnerships for items like furniture, Post-it notes, and toys.

“An airy white hue, Cloud Dancer exemplifies our search for balance between our digital future and our primal need for human connection,”

a spokesperson said.

Some left-wing critics are furious, filling social media with complaints that it’s ‘tone deaf’ and even hinting at racism.

Some called the choice ‘not a good look,’ while others claimed the move was hinting at surrender or even something worse.

One social media user compared the shade’s meaning to hot-button political stories, tying it all into attacks on American manufacturing and even referencing controversial groups.

Even color choices get spun into controversy these days. If they make this much noise over paint, what hope is there for common sense?

Wyatt Matters

Simple things, like color and tradition, shouldn’t be turned upside down for political gain. Most folks know a shade of white isn’t a secret signal—it’s just another part of daily life, one more sign that elites and activists are out of touch with the real concerns of working-class America.
