January 1, America First Under SIEGE: Liberal Korean Government Launches SHOCKING Attack on U.S. Companies

Wyatt’s Take
- South Korea’s leftist government is waging coordinated economic warfare against American businesses, threatening crucial partnerships that keep our supply chains strong.
- Biden officials stood by silently while these radicals launched their campaign, proving once again this administration won’t protect American workers and companies overseas.
- Korean liberals are copying the same socialist playbook Democrats use here at home — weaponizing regulators, prosecutors, and courts to punish successful businesses that won’t bend the knee.
American companies operating in South Korea are getting hammered by a coordinated government attack that’s making it nearly impossible to do business. And the timing couldn’t be worse — just as we need strong economic allies to counter China’s growing power.
South Korea’s liberal government has unleashed what experts are calling a “whole-of-government assault” on U.S. businesses. Regulators, prosecutors, and courts are all working together to target American companies with investigations, fines, and legal harassment.
The campaign kicked into high gear after left-wing President Yoon Suk Yeol’s Democratic Party rivals seized control of the National Assembly. They’ve been using every tool at their disposal to punish foreign companies — especially American ones — that won’t play ball with their socialist agenda.
U.S. business leaders operating in the country say the hostile environment is unlike anything they’ve seen before. Companies that have operated successfully in South Korea for decades suddenly face investigations into their hiring practices, tax structures, and business partnerships.
“This is a coordinated effort to make life miserable for American companies,” one business executive told reporters on condition of anonymity, fearing government retaliation.
The attacks come at a terrible time for American economic interests. South Korea remains a critical ally in the Asia-Pacific region, and U.S. companies there employ thousands of American workers back home through supply chain relationships.
But the liberal government seems more interested in scoring cheap political points than maintaining the strong economic partnership both countries need. They’ve taken a page straight from the American left’s playbook — using government power to bully businesses into submission.
Korean prosecutors have launched wide-ranging investigations into American firms, often on flimsy pretexts. Regulatory agencies that once processed permits and licenses quickly now drag their feet for months. And courts that traditionally respected business contracts are suddenly finding reasons to rule against foreign companies.
The Biden administration has been notably silent about these attacks on American businesses. That silence speaks volumes about whose side they’re really on when push comes to shove.
American companies are reconsidering major investments in South Korea, which could hurt both countries’ economies. Some are quietly exploring options to move operations to friendlier countries like Vietnam or Thailand.
The situation highlights a bigger problem — liberal governments around the world are getting bolder about attacking American economic interests. They see weakness in Washington and they’re taking advantage of it.
Business groups have tried quiet diplomacy to resolve the issues, but the Korean government shows no signs of backing down. If anything, the attacks are escalating as the country heads toward its next election cycle.
Conservative Korean politicians have warned that the anti-business crusade will backfire, damaging the country’s reputation as a reliable place for foreign investment. But the liberals running things now seem willing to sacrifice economic growth for political gain.
The mess in South Korea is a preview of what happens when leftists get control of government. They can’t help themselves — they have to attack successful businesses and punish anyone who won’t submit to their control.
Wyatt Matters
When American companies get pushed around overseas, American workers suffer at home. These businesses create jobs, strengthen supply chains, and project economic power that keeps our country strong. A government that won’t stand up for our companies abroad is a government that doesn’t care about working families who depend on those businesses. We need leaders who understand that defending American economic interests isn’t optional — it’s the bare minimum we should expect.
