Wyatt’s Take

  • Senator Grassley exposed nearly 200 subpoenas targeting Republican groups and figures.
  • Republican leaders say this was a partisan investigation meant to go after political enemies.
  • Calls grow for more whistleblowers as top law enforcement struggles to get control.

The Senate Judiciary Chair released documents showing that Jack Smith’s team sent out almost 200 subpoenas, casting a wide net over Republican organizations and individuals.

This move has Republicans warning that the investigation was not just about one case, but an effort to dig into the entire conservative movement.

Senator Grassley pointed to the “Arctic Frost” operation, saying it let federal agents and prosecutors target Republican politics without good reason.

“Contrary to what Smith has said publicly, this was clearly a fishing expedition.”

These subpoenas came during the Trump election interference probe, but that case was dropped after Trump’s return to the White House.

Senator Johnson argued this list of targets is proof the Biden administration is keeping tabs on political opponents.

He said the details came from a whistleblower, not from the agencies themselves.

Johnson added that the FBI Director and Attorney General are overwhelmed and short-handed, claiming they don’t fully control their departments.

“I think they’re being sabotaged within.”

The feds wanted to see communication records between these Republicans, members of Congress, media, and White House staff.

Critics say the effort went far beyond what was needed for any one legal case.

Trump spoke out strongly against the investigators right after the press event.

“These thugs should all be investigated and put in prison.”

“A disgrace to humanity. Deranged Jack Smith is a criminal!!!”

Senator Schmitt called it the biggest scandal of the past century, while Senator Blackburn said it was worse than Watergate.

Previous reports show that records from Republican lawmakers were included in those subpoenaed.

If our government is being used to go after political enemies, Americans need to know.
