January 1, Kathy Griffin Permanently Suspended From Twitter
Comedian and outspoken Democrat Kathy Griffin was permanently suspended from Twitter after breaking the platform’s rules against impersonation.
Griffin had changed her account’s display name to “Elon Musk,” switched her avatar to the same image used on Musk’s account, and started impersonating Musk in her tweets.
Griffin, 62, instructed people to “vote blue” in her tweets purporting to be Musk, who recently purchased the social media platform.
Twitter already had rules in place against impersonation before Musk’s takeover. The platform dictates that accounts that impersonate others are subject to suspension, temporary or permanent.
On Sunday, after Griffin and a litany of other verified Twitter accounts started impersonating Musk on the platform, the new CEO issued a stern warning.
“Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended,” Musk tweeted.
“Previously, we issued a warning before suspension, but now that we are rolling out widespread verification, there will be no warning,” he added.
The incident wasn’t the first time that Griffin lashed out against Musk. In April, she called him a “white supremacist.”
“Musk is a Piers Morgan level media thirsty, vindictive, white supremacist who is looking to convince you he is an innovative disruptor,” Griffin said.

Yeah…..really………….I think it’s about time someone stood up to Hollywood, and all so called comedians like Griffin. She should have been canned long ago, when she got into displaying an effigy of Trumps severed head. Tasteless, uncouth, zero manners, all derived and learned from the comedy circuits where anything goes. They can get as vulgar as they want in those places and walk away with a wad of cash and lots of laughs. Apparently Griffin is not smart enough to know where that dividing line is between vulgarity and sensibilities lay. There are lots of folks out here that still adheres to the right and wrong of an issue…..and Kathy Griffin is certainly not in the right column that’s for certain. America does not need these types.
