Wyatt’s Take

  • Vice President J.D. Vance says evidence points to immigration fraud through a sham marriage.
  • The Republic of Somaliland is calling for extradition instead of simple deportation for the congresswoman.
  • Allegations center on a 2009 marriage used to bring an alleged relative into the country.

Vice President J.D. Vance recently stated the White House is certain Ilhan Omar committed immigration fraud. He alleges she married her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, to get him into the United States.

Vance has reportedly consulted with White House officials on how to investigate the Minnesota Democrat effectively. The Republic of Somaliland responded to the news by calling for her extradition back to Africa.

“Deportation? Please you’re just sending the princess back to her kingdom,” the country posted on social media.

“Extradition? Say the word …”

Timeline records suggest Omar married her first husband in 2002 before later marrying Elmi in 2009. She eventually reconciled with her first husband after splitting from Elmi in 2011.

Omar has dismissed these claims as bigoted lies despite the complicated paper trail of her marriages.

She currently faces backlash for opposing Somaliland’s independence while representing Somali interests in Minnesota.

Meanwhile, the congresswoman previously defended a local population involved in massive taxpayer theft. Dozens were charged with stealing over $1 billion from federal and state social welfare programs.

Wyatt Matters

Middle America families expect honesty from public officials and fairness under the law. When powerful people seem to get a different standard, trust in the system takes another hit.

I think she should do a few years prison time in U.S. before she goes home.

In order for her to be extradited, she would have to be facing charges filed in a Somali court. From what i can tell, the only potential.criminal act took place in the USA.
