Home cooks grabbed easy recipes like cottage cheese bowls, turkey in slow cookers, and crispy onion snacks.
These dishes brought satisfaction on a budget and matched changing times for American households.

People tracked down meals that made them feel good, like beef and sweet potato bowls with hot honey and cottage cheese.
“People want to feel good about their food choices without sacrificing flavor and enjoyment.”

Rising prices pushed Americans toward practical food shopping and simple ingredient lists.
“Inflation has forced creativity and simplicity upon us.”
Clinton added.
Chuck Hayworth, a chef from North Carolina, noted.
“Rising costs forced people back into grocery stores, where they started grabbing inexpensive ingredients like cottage cheese and experimenting in the kitchen.”
Cooks saw new recipes as fun, not a chore.
This year’s top viral recipes included the spicy beef and cottage cheese bowl, baked dumplings with curry, Cajun-spiced cabbage, and simple salads.
The carrot salad trend showed how whole foods give families both nutrition and savings.
“Whole foods are being emphasized by younger generations as a cheaper and healthier way to get daily nutrients.”
Hayworth explained.
Protein muffins made from cottage cheese or yogurt gave folks a fast, nourishing breakfast.
“The protein obsession is really a movement towards living well.”
Clinton said.
“Protein keeps you full between Zoom meetings, meals and workouts.”
Clinton added.
Turkish-inspired pasta, crispy onion chips, and slow-cooker turkey turned ordinary products into special meals without breaking the bank.
America’s go-to pasta shape, ditalini, brought chopped salads and soups into the spotlight, rounding out another year of down-to-earth cooking trends.
