January 1, Megyn Kelly Explains Why She Turned Down CNN’s “Huge Offer”
Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly said she turned down then-CNN President Jeff Zucker’s “huge offer” to join the network in 2017.
“I considered going to CNN,” Kelly said on a recent episode of The Megyn Kelly Show. “CNN made me a huge offer. Huge.”
According to Kelly, she decided to decline the offer because she didn’t think she’d be very popular with CNN’s viewers.
“I knew who my fans were and I knew that my Fox viewers were not going to follow me to CNN and that the CNN viewers were going to hate my guts,” she said.
Kelly also took a jab at network executives for the fledgling debut of the streaming platform, CNN+.
“Who is the moron at CNN who actually thought, ‘You know what we need with our ratings in the toilet? More of us. We need more CNN,’” Kelly said.
