Wyatt’s Take

  • Bulgaria is ending U.S. military aircraft access to Sofia’s airport after Biden’s State Department failed to deliver visa-free travel for Bulgarian citizens
  • America’s reputation as a reliable ally continues crumbling under weak leadership that ignores commitments while expecting other nations to carry their weight
  • This is what happens when bureaucrats prioritize woke immigration policies over strategic partnerships that keep our military strong overseas

Bulgaria just delivered a stinging rebuke to the Biden administration. Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced that U.S. military aircraft will lose access to Sofia International Airport on June 30th.

The reason? Washington failed to follow through on its promise to approve visa-free travel for Bulgarian citizens.

“The rights of U.S. military aircraft to utilize the Sofia International airport will end on June 30th, following Washington’s failure to approve a visa-free travel system for Bulgarian citizens,” Radev stated.

This is a major blow to American military logistics in Eastern Europe. Bulgaria has been a NATO ally since 2004, providing critical access for U.S. forces operating in the region.

But the Biden administration couldn’t keep a simple promise. While the State Department obsesses over pronouns and climate activism, it’s failing at basic diplomacy.

American allies are watching. They see a government that demands loyalty but doesn’t deliver on commitments. Bulgaria just decided it’s had enough of being taken for granted.

This decision doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Countries across Europe are questioning whether the United States is still a reliable partner. When promises get broken and leadership looks weak, allies start making other arrangements.

The visa-free travel agreement wasn’t some radical ask. It’s a standard benefit extended to trusted allies. The fact that Washington couldn’t deliver shows just how dysfunctional our foreign policy has become under this administration.

Now our military loses strategic access because bureaucrats couldn’t get their act together. That’s not just embarrassing — it’s dangerous.

Wyatt Matters

When America breaks its word, our enemies celebrate and our friends look elsewhere. Hardworking Americans understand that trust matters — whether it’s your neighbor, your employer, or your country. This administration is squandering the credibility our military and diplomats built over decades, and we’re all less safe because of it.
