January 1, Liberal Media’s ‘Worst States’ List BACKFIRES — Here’s What They’re Really Hiding

Wyatt’s Take

  • Corporate media just declared 10 red states the ‘worst to live in’ — and guess what they actually measured? Not safety, not affordability, not freedom — they valued woke policies over kitchen-table reality.
  • The survey reveals more about the left’s twisted priorities than it does about these states — places where families can actually afford homes, raise kids, and live without constant government interference.
  • This is the same playbook they always use: rig the criteria, ignore what working Americans actually care about, then act shocked when people keep moving to these ‘terrible’ states.

A recent survey from a major business network claims to have identified America’s 10 worst states to live in. But a closer look at the methodology reveals something far more interesting than the rankings themselves.

The criteria used to judge these states tells you everything you need to know about what the coastal elite media actually values — and what they completely ignore.

What did they prioritize? Trendy progressive policies, expensive regulatory frameworks, and cultural indicators that matter more to Manhattan cocktail parties than Main Street America. What did they downplay or ignore entirely? Crime rates, cost of living, tax burden, educational freedom, and whether regular families can actually afford to buy a home and raise kids.

Here’s the kicker: while these supposedly “worst” states get smeared, they’re experiencing population growth. Families are voting with their feet, fleeing high-tax blue states for places where a teacher’s salary can buy a house, where small businesses aren’t strangled by regulations, and where you don’t need permission from seventeen bureaucrats to add a deck to your home.

The survey perfectly encapsulates the disconnect between media elites and working Americans. They genuinely cannot understand why anyone would choose affordable housing, safer neighborhoods, lower taxes, and more personal freedom over whatever checklist of progressive policies they’re currently celebrating.

Meanwhile, the states they champion — the ones supposedly getting it right — are hemorrhaging residents. California has lost population for the first time in its history. New York is watching its tax base flee. Illinois can’t keep people from leaving fast enough.

But sure, the red states are the problem.

This isn’t journalism. It’s advocacy dressed up as analysis, using cherry-picked metrics designed to reach a predetermined conclusion. The methodology was reverse-engineered to produce the result they wanted: red states bad, blue states good.

The reality on the ground tells a completely different story. Ask actual families where they’d rather raise their kids. Ask retirees where their fixed income goes further. Ask small business owners where they can actually build something without drowning in regulations and fees.

The answers won’t match this rigged ranking.

Why It Matters

This survey reveals how completely out of touch the media establishment has become with regular Americans. They’re literally telling you that states with affordable housing, lower crime, less government interference, and traditional values are the worst places to live — while championing states where a starter home costs a million dollars and you need three roommates to afford a one-bedroom apartment. Middle America isn’t buying it anymore, and that’s exactly why people keep moving to these supposedly terrible red states.
