Kamala Harris isn’t going anywhere. Despite getting thoroughly defeated by Donald Trump in 2024, the former vice president is back doing what she does best — dodging real questions and laughing through interviews with friendly faces.

This week, Harris sat down with former soccer player and activist Megan Rapinoe for a new interview that can only be described as a mutual admiration society. Hard-hitting journalism wasn’t on the agenda.

“You could do anything, you’re brilliant, and you’re talented, and you’re beautiful, and you’re smart, and you’re funny and you’re all these things,” Rapinoe gushed.

That’s the level of scrutiny Harris received. No questions about border failures, inflation, or why she couldn’t connect with Middle America voters.

Instead, we got Harris reminiscing about being taken to “marches” in a “stroller” and vague talk about barrier breaking. Nothing of substance for hardworking Americans struggling to pay their bills.

But Rapinoe couldn’t resist injecting her favorite grievance into the conversation — the supposed “regression” in women’s sports.

“I’m thinking about my own experience being a female athlete, and I went through, in the prime of my career, just the most historic time in women’s sports,” she said. “I mean, it was crazy in the best ways. We saw a huge amount of progress, which has led into a pretty significant regression in terms of just equal rights and people’s rights in general. I definitely think those two are tied.”

Let’s be crystal clear about what Rapinoe calls “regression.” She’s talking about states and sports organizations finally standing up to protect biological women from having to compete against biological men.

That’s not regression. That’s common sense making a comeback.

The irony is rich. If a biological male had taken Rapinoe’s spot on the US women’s soccer team, she wouldn’t have achieved any of the success that made her famous. Yet she fights against the very protections that enabled her career.

Male athletes aren’t being prevented from playing sports. They’re simply being required to compete against other males, which is the only fair and rational approach to athletic competition.

Harris, for her part, contributed little of value. She asked Rapinoe to close her eyes and picture “the boy next door,” then rambled about boys playing softball in suburban America.

“What four words together in our language would describe you or me?,” Harris asked. “We don’t have it.”

Actually, plenty of four-word phrases come to mind for both of them. Just not the flattering ones they’re fishing for.

Perhaps the most tone-deaf moment came when Harris complained about the “concentration of wealth and power among a few.”

This came from a woman who just purchased an $8 million mansion in Malibu, complete with heated pool and in-ground spa. The self-awareness is non-existent.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden’s family has profited for decades from his political influence. Barack Obama owns multiple estates, including prime Martha’s Vineyard property. But somehow they’re excluded from the “wealthy elite” Harris criticizes.

When asked if she’ll run again in 2028, Harris said she hasn’t decided. That should terrify anyone who values competent leadership.

This interview perfectly illustrates why Harris failed in 2024. Her party is represented by figures like Rapinoe who see grievance in everything and refuse to accept basic biological reality.

Women’s sports haven’t experienced any “regression” in rights. If anything, leagues like the WNBA are more popular than ever, proving exactly why protecting female athletes matters — both for safety and competitive fairness.

But acknowledging that would undermine the victimhood narrative Harris and Rapinoe have built their brands on. Reality has a way of doing that.

Why It Matters

Working families don’t have time for wealthy elites complaining about progress while living in mansions. Real women’s rights means protecting female athletes from unfair competition, not the backwards agenda Rapinoe pushes. Americans rejected this disconnected nonsense in 2024, and they’ll reject it again if Harris tries another run.
