January 1, Kansas Mail Carrier Indicted After GOP Campaign Mailers Found in Her Garage

Wyatt’s Take

• A rural Kansas mail carrier faces federal charges after hundreds of Republican campaign mailers were discovered hidden in her garage.
• The indictment shows that election mail entrusted to the postal service was never delivered to voters.
• This case raises serious concerns about whether ballots and political mail can be trusted in future elections.

A federal grand jury indicted a rural Kansas mail carrier on Election Day after investigators said they found 4,404 pieces of mail, including about 394 GOP political mailers, in her garage.

The indictment alleges that the mail carrier failed to deliver the political advertisements during the election period. Investigators recovered the mail from her personal property instead of the intended recipients.

Authorities discovered the undelivered items during the course of their investigation into the carrier’s conduct. The case highlights potential vulnerabilities in how political mail is handled by the postal service.
