Wyatt’s Take

  • The Chicago Bears showed they belong at the top of the NFC North with a convincing win on the road.
  • Quarterback Caleb Williams and the offense outplayed a top-ranked defense while the run game powered home three scores.
  • Adding veteran Jeffery Simmons gives Chicago the complete team ready for a long playoff run.

The Chicago Bears proved they are the team to beat in the NFC North after a 34-17 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.

Lumen Field is known as a tough place for visiting teams, yet the Bears never looked rattled.

Quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 237 yards and became the first passer to top 200 yards against Seattle’s league-leading defense.

His touchdown strike went to rookie Luther Burden III on a 23-yard catch.

Wide receiver Rome Odunze added 87 yards on four catches, including a 24-yard reception.

Running back D’Andre Swift carried the load on the ground, scoring three touchdowns behind an offensive line that opened lanes all night.

The ground attack helped Chicago finish with 363 total yards.

Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons made an immediate impact in his first game with the Bears after the trade, finishing with six combined tackles, a sack, and two tackles for loss.

Linebacker James Lynch also forced a late interception that set up Swift’s final score.

Seattle’s offense struggled to find consistency after winning the Super Bowl last season.

Running back Zach Charbonnet returned from injury, but the Seahawks managed just 81 rushing yards.

Receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba kept Seattle close with over 100 receiving yards and a touchdown right before halftime.

Even so, the Bears’ defense held firm and never let the home team mount a serious comeback.

With the win, Chicago improved to 6-2 while sending a clear message to the rest of the division that they are the most complete team in the NFC North.

Wyatt Matters

Hard work, discipline, and putting the right pieces together still win football games, just like they win in everyday life. When a team focuses on fundamentals instead of flash, the results speak for themselves.
