January 1, Virginia Governor’s Jobs Story Faces Fresh Questions

Published

on

Wyatt’s Take

  • Abigail Spanberger is trying to take credit for jobs she didn’t create.
  • Records show the companies she cited announced their Virginia investments before her tenure.
  • Her approval rating is lagging behind many recent Virginia governors.

However, records show the four companies she named actually committed to Virginia while her Republican predecessor was in office.

The governor is trying to claim a victory lap for work already done by the previous administration.

Social media users noticed the discrepancy immediately, with many pointing out that the governor’s claims did not match the timeline of the deals.

While Spanberger signed bills to authorize incentives, the actual decisions to move to Virginia happened under conservative leadership.

“Attracting new companies and jobs to communities across our Commonwealth is a core focus of my administration,” Spanberger wrote in a post on X.

“Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced Hitachi Energy… will invest $457 million to expand the company’s power transformer production facility… creating 825 new jobs,” a 2025 release originally stated.

The media has been slow to highlight the truth, with some outlets burying the mention of the previous administration deep in their reports.

This comes as the governor struggles to connect with voters who remember the economic successes of the prior years.

Wyatt Matters

Working people know that leadership is about results, not empty PR stunts. When politicians try to hijack a predecessor’s success, voters deserve the truth.

Can you say “recall”. We even did it here in CA to Gray Davis, that’s how bad he was.

She was sworn in, January 2026. I guess just her presence made this happen. We all know it’s not her democrat policies.

Maybe the Nobel Peace Prize is coming too. Some of our Virginia military is afloat in the Mideast so when Iran finally folds, she is a shoo-in.
