January 1, Louvre Jewel Heist Sparks Outrage in France
Wyatt’s Take

- The nation is demanding answers and tougher protection for treasured history.
France is reeling after thieves stole more than $100 million in jewels from the Louvre Museum.
The museum director admitted there was a significant failure in security.
Laurence des Cars, head of the Louvre, said.
“Despite our efforts, despite our hard work on a daily basis, we failed.”
Security was weak, and the only outdoor camera was pointed away from where the robbers struck.
Alarms were working, but that didn’t stop the crime.
During a press conference, des Cars admitted.
“We failed these jewels.”
She also warned.
“No one is safe from brutal thieves — not even the Louvre.”
Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau explained the thieves used a truck-mounted furniture lift to reach the jewels.
They tricked staff by acting like they were there for a normal move, not a heist.
Beccuau said reselling the priceless items will not be easy because of their history and value.
The stolen items included royal treasures connected to French queens and empresses, like a sapphire diadem and emerald jewelry linked to Napoleon’s family.
The loot also held rare diamond pieces from Empress Eugénie.
French President Emmanuel Macron responded on social media.
“The theft committed at the Louvre is an attack on a heritage that we cherish, for it is our history… We will recover the works, and the perpetrators will be brought to justice.”
This crime has shaken France almost as much as the Notre Dame fire in 2019.
The team of investigators jumped from 60 to 100 as police search for clues in the growing case.
Protecting history isn’t just about locks and cameras.
It’s about keeping our nation’s heart and soul safe for future generations, no matter what it takes.

It’s awful how many people follow the devil, not the Lord’s will. There have always been wars but the crime for the sake of crime benefits no one. The time is coming and when it does, these treasures will have no value to thieves like these. They cannot buy their way into heaven. God bless us all, and may they come to their senses and return those, even anonymously, and repent.
