Joint Task Force Southern Spear carried out the mission at the direction of leadership after intelligence confirmed the boat was engaged in illegal operations.

“Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations,” Southern Command stated.

“Two male narco-terrorists were killed during this action.”
