January 1, Rogers vs El-Sayed Showdown Leaves Michigan Voters Wondering Who Stands With Working Families

Wyatt’s Take
- Mike Rogers stood firm for Michigan workers while Democrat Abdul El-Sayed pushed his far-left agenda.
- The debate exposed sharp differences on border security, energy costs, and family values.
- Heartland voters now have a clear choice between American-first policies and radical change.
The final debate in Michigan’s Senate race turned into a heated exchange Wednesday night as Republican Mike Rogers and Democrat Abdul El-Sayed traded sharp attacks and laid out their competing visions for the state and the country.
Rogers hammered home his record of standing with working families and keeping promises on border security and energy independence. He repeatedly pointed to the damage caused by years of open-border policies and runaway spending that have driven up costs for regular folks.

“I have spent my career fighting for the people of Michigan and protecting the American way of life,” Rogers said during the exchange.
El-Sayed pushed a progressive platform focused on expansive government programs and climate policies that many Michigan voters fear will raise energy bills and hurt manufacturing jobs. He avoided direct answers on how his plans would be paid for and sidestepped questions about the impact on family budgets.
“We need bold action to address systemic inequality and the climate crisis,” El-Sayed declared.
The debate also highlighted Rogers’ commitment to traditional values and his opposition to policies that would erode parental rights and religious liberty. El-Sayed embraced the cultural changes pushed by the left, leaving little doubt where each candidate stands on the issues that matter most to heartland families.
Wyatt Matters
Michigan families deserve leaders who put their paychecks, their borders, and their kids first. The choice is simple: protect what works or gamble on radical change that has already failed elsewhere.
