January 1, Warriors Big Man Pushes Back Hard Against Wild Online Rumors

Wyatt’s Take
- Pro athletes have every right to keep their private medical details private, and fans should respect that.
- Online trolls spreading false health scares only add stress when a man is already fighting to get healthy.
- Real recovery takes time, patience, and trust in doctors, not Twitter speculation.
Kristaps Porzingis is out indefinitely while he works with doctors to regain full health, and he made it clear he does not have HIV or AIDS.
The veteran forward thanked supporters but told internet critics to back off from wild guesses about his condition.
“Hello people, I’m working with doctors and experts to figure out how to be fully back to good health asap. Honestly, I’m getting better and better,” he wrote on X.
“I just have to stay patient, and I believe I’ll be feeling great again soon.”
Porzingis said the frustration has built up from past injuries plus this latest unknown issue, but he remains confident he will return strong.
“It has definitely been frustrating dealing with some health stuff that you can’t exactly pinpoint, on top of injuries throughout my career, so it has added up for sure, but we will get through it.”
“Health is wealth. Thank you for all the support.”
He followed up with a direct message to the online crowd trying to diagnose him from their couches.
“I appreciate all the internet doctors trying to diagnose and help, but I’m in the best hands,” he wrote. “So everyone can relax now and I don’t have HIV or AIDS.”
Golden State signed Porzingis to a $40 million extension this offseason, knowing he was managing a health matter. Only a small portion of this year’s pay is guaranteed.
The 7-foot-3 Latvian has battled lingering effects from an upper respiratory virus two seasons ago and played just 34 games last season.
He has stayed in touch with head coach Steve Kerr and the team’s medical staff while working to return to the court.
Porzingis is keeping the exact details private for now, which is his choice and his business.
Wyatt Matters
Hard-working folks in Middle America understand that a man’s health and privacy are his own, and real recovery comes from discipline and expert care, not gossip on the internet.
