January 1, Police Find Over 500K Fentanyl Pills During Traffic Stop
Arizona police have arrested two women after finding over 500,000 fentanyl pills during a traffic stop.
Casa Grande Police stopped Martha Lopez, 31, and Tania Luna Solis, 30, about 50 miles outside of Phoenix for speeding.
Police said they found roughly 500,000 pills hidden in collagen supplement bottles, a gun, and a “large amount of U.S. currency.” Two juveniles were also in the vehicle.
“The transport and sale of drugs in our community affects us all,” Casa Grande Police Chief Mark McCrory said. “It is hard to quantify the number of lives this investigation has saved, but I am sure we are making a difference.”
Lopez and Solis were both arrested on charges related to possession, transportation, and importation of narcotic drugs for sale and child endangerment.
