January 1, Oscar Winner Finds Woman’s Lost Dog
Losing your dog only to have it found — and returned to you — by an Academy Award winner sounds like a dream, but it was reality for one New York woman.
Chelsea Blackwell was distraught when her dachshund, Blue, disappeared last week. She began searching, driving for an hour before approaching the Greyhound bus station in Albany, where she encountered a line of police vehicles and people wielding cameras.
She had stumbled upon a film crew — including a movie star who had found her dog of 15 years.
“I started asking everybody if they saw my small brown dog,” Blackwell said.
“You won’t believe this,” the crew told her, explaining that a celebrity had found her beloved Blue.
About an hour later, a car pulled up carrying Blue, who was sitting in the lap of two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank.
“I was just, I was losing my mind because I’ve had Blue since he was a little puppy,” Blackwell said. “After losing my mom and my cousin, I didn’t want to lose my best friend, too.”
