January 1, TV Chef Sparks Controversy After Greeting Tate Brothers at UFC Event

Wyatt’s Take
- Guy Fieri is facing backlash after he was seen greeting Andrew and Tristan Tate at a UFC event in Miami.
- Fieri says he did not know who the brothers were and insists the encounter was brief and unplanned.
- The controversy has already prompted at least one company to distance itself from the celebrity chef.
Fieri released a statement on social media after the footage spread online.
“I’m seeing all of your comments about the photo from Saturday’s UFC event and all I can say is that I’m devastated,” Fieri wrote.
He said he was there to watch the fights and that the Tates approached him inside the venue.
“I was there to see the fights and when I was walking through the venue, the Tate brothers stood up and said hello and that’s when the exchange happened.”
He added that he did not know them or anything about them before that moment.
“I did not know them or about them before that moment,” he stated.
The Tate brothers remain tied to legal investigations in multiple countries, though they have denied wrongdoing.
Fieri also said he has no relationship with the brothers and does not support them.
