January 1, New Jersey Democrat Digs In After Massive Voter Roll Bombshell

Wyatt’s Take

  • Senator doubles down against Trump’s voter ID push even after his own state just purged over 6,600 noncitizens from voter rolls
  • Democrat governor blamed it on a ‘software error’ — but nobody’s explaining how thousands of illegal names got into the system in the first place
  • Blue state politicians are scrambling to call this a ‘clerical mistake’ while blocking the exact reforms that would prevent it

New Jersey Democrat Sen. Cory Booker is standing firm against President Trump’s SAVE America Act even after his home state just revealed a jaw-dropping voter roll scandal. The Garden State admitted last week that roughly 6,600 noncitizens were mistakenly eligible to vote in the 2024 presidential election.

Booker’s response? The problem has nothing to do with voter ID laws.

“Nothing in the SAVE Act would have prevented a clerical error like we’ve seen in Texas and Oregon and New Jersey,” Booker said. “We’ve got to protect our voting systems.”

New Jersey’s Democratic Gov. Mikie Sherrill announced the stunning purge last week, removing the thousands of noncitizens from state voter rolls. Sherrill blamed the whole mess on a “serious software error” in New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle System.

But here’s the thing: there’s no national standard for tracking these so-called errors. That means nobody really knows how widespread this problem is across the country. Republicans backing Trump’s SAVE Act say that’s exactly why the legislation is needed — to shine a light on voting system failures and stop them before they happen.

The timing couldn’t be worse for Democrats. President Trump has been pushing hard for Senate Republicans to pass the SAVE Act, which would require all voters to provide in-person proof of citizenship before casting a ballot. Some GOP senators are dragging their feet, but Democrats are the ones mounting the fiercest opposition.

“[The SAVE Act] would stop millions of Americans from voting,” Booker claimed.

Booker insists New Jersey is taking the scandal seriously and pointed to Governor Sherrill’s promise to investigate. Sherrill ordered an immediate probe and removal of all noncitizens from the rolls as soon as the problem surfaced.

“We take this very seriously in New Jersey,” Booker said. “People are stepping up.”

“We have a governor that’s saying this is unacceptable. We’re gonna make sure that we get to the bottom of it. People need to be held accountable.”

The New Jersey senator has been one of the loudest voices against the SAVE Act, calling it a “massive voter suppression bill.” Democrats argue that requiring citizenship documentation will prevent millions of legitimate American voters from participating in elections.

In a revealing moment, Booker told reporters that election requirements “should always have proof of citizenship for voting.” But he quickly added that this should be handled at the state level — even for federal elections.

“The states, as the Constitution says, should handle their voting when there’s problems or violations of the law. People should be prosecuted.”

The contradiction is hard to miss. Booker admits citizenship proof should be required, but opposes federal legislation that would standardize those requirements nationwide. Meanwhile, his own state just exposed a massive failure that let thousands of noncitizens onto the rolls — and there’s no way to know if similar problems exist in other states.

Without a national reporting standard, these voter roll scandals could be the tip of the iceberg. Republicans supporting the SAVE Act say the legislation would force states to get serious about cleaning up their voter registration systems and preventing noncitizens from casting ballots.

“We’re going to handle the problems in New Jersey, but I hate how it’s being weaponized by some people to advance schemes that actually would hurt Americans,” Booker said.

Why It Matters

When your vote gets canceled out by someone who isn’t even supposed to be on the rolls, that’s not a clerical error — that’s a stolen voice. Working families who play by the rules and show up on Election Day deserve to know their ballot counts. No software glitch should ever put American citizens’ votes at risk, and no politician should stand in the way of common-sense fixes that protect legal voters.

Stupid Democrats don’t care that they were caught because they have an Insane Base willing to keep the Fraud going to retain power, and I’m sure it’s much more then 6600 Votes, and it doesn’t matter, how many elections were won by just a few votes. Americans have played the Fools way too long. Time to end all the Fraud across the Board coming from these Lunatics ripping off our Country and it’s citizens. The Democrats found Billions upon Billions for the Illegal Aliens but not for Americans in need. Remember that when to cast your Vote.

if I’m not mistaken, Proof of citizenship is required to REGISTER to vote. Before you go to the polls.
Not at the polls when you vote. Simple Photo ID at polls.

I’m only familiar with my state so maybe it’s different elsewhere, but where I live, I must provide a photo ID + proof of RESIDENCE (such as a utility bill) in order to register. I’ve never had to prove CITIZENSHIP.

These states “automatically “ register people to vote when they obtain a drivers license. You do not need “ proof of citizenship “ to obtain a DL. his is how the dishonest Dumbocrats can continue to rig elections and try to subvert our electoral system – cheat at ANY price. Booker is one of the most corrupt members of congress – he should be in jail.

This is the way I understand it as well. Democrats don’t want Voter I.D. because it will make it harder for them to cheat. Prove me wrong.

Booker, please explain how millions won’t be able to vote under the Save Act. Are you implying that certain legal citizens are too stupid to prove their eligibility by lack of knowledge of what is required to vote? Folks who are serious about casting a ballot can supply the necessary information.

Non-citizens must not be–& have never been–allowed to register to vote. No one disagrees with that.
But since voting is a constitutionally guaranteed RIGHT, no entity may put barriers in place that might disenfranchise even one eligible voter.
Right now, I must show a photo ID + proof of RESIDENCE (such as a utility bill) in order to register. That utility bill costs me nothing. I can even show it on my phone.

But what documents prove that I’m a CITIZEN? Can I get them for free?

If the federal government sets up a method for me to prove my citizenship for free, & then provides me with a “Citizenship card” for free, I’m all for it.

Essentially every single state will provide such documentation for FREE if you need it already.

Please note that the Democrats will not reveal that tiny, yet essential, piece of information.

Unfortunately states allow illegals to receive a Drivers License. Showing a Drivers License does not provide proof of citizenship. People should have to prove citizenship when registering to vote and show an I.D. when they actually vote.

It’s been shown that it wasn’t clerical error. The state allowed those names on the roll! Don’t put the blame where it doesn’t belong. 🇺🇸❤️

There were reportedly a large number of the 6600 Pennsylvania names on the voter rolls who stated that they were not US citizens and yet they were registered to vote anyway. If that is true, then the state does not care whether their residents are citizens or not, just vote and vote often. In CA, where non-citizens can acquire drivers’ licenses, upon getting the license, automatic voter registration occurs. This can give voice to our elections for anyone from anywhere in the world. Please note that socialist/communists do not believe in sovereign countries or any borders.

Do these democrats even hear themselves?
It’s embarrassing how stupid they make themselves sound.
