January 1, Mitch McConnell Shifts Focus in Senate Leadership Transition

Mitch McConnell, a big name from Kentucky, is stepping down from being the top Republican in the Senate. But he’s not retiring yet! He’s going to lead the Senate Rules Committee and help out on the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee for Defense when the next Congress starts.

Mitch says the world is super scary right now, pretty much like after World War II. So, he thinks it’s really important for Republicans to be strong and lead America. He’s ready to roll up his sleeves and get to work with Susan Collins from Maine, who is also a big name working on the Defense budget.

Mitch will also be in charge of the Senate Rules Committee. He thinks protecting free speech during elections is super important. Deb Fischer has been doing a great job, and Mitch says she’ll continue to help out.

Mitch has been in the Senate for almost 40 years! He’s been the head of the Senate Republicans since 2007 but decided it was time to let someone else take over. Now, John Thune from South Dakota is ready to be the new leader.

Republicans have taken back the majority in the Senate for 2024, and John Thune will be the top guy. Mitch thinks John is a fantastic leader, and he’s ready to help America get back on track after the Democrats made such a mess.

Lots of people are counting on the Republicans to fix things, and John Thune is ready to start making big changes. Mitch and all the Senate Republicans are ready to back him up and get work done for America.

    Take this Senate assessment with a grain of salt!
    Thune is a water bearer for McConnel, and Collins is, as I suspect all three of being, a RINO.
    Until The Pillsbury Doughboy is gone, the Senate remains a den of liars and double-dealers. IMHO

    You both have your eyes wide open,too bad the rest of our country is still sleeping. Or perhaps they are sick and tired of all this BS that has been happening. But, praise the Lord, it’s about to stop. Thank Goodness. We now are going to have true patriots helping to get the SWAMP cleaned out finally. And they are all younger with lots of energy and guts. Hang on America, the good guys are coming!

    Mitch McConnell can not be trusted to trust him could lead to future problems in Congress, he should be removed immediately if not sooner look at his past betrails and look at his state and the poverty, get rid of the old geiser.
