January 1, Leaked emails show Jon Gruden called Biden a ‘clueless p—’
Recently published emails of former Las Vegas Raiders coach and NFL broadcaster Jon Gruden mocked then-Vice President Biden in 2011, calling him a “clueless p—.”
A trove of Gruden’s emails were obtained and reviewed by The New York Times, which published the details on Monday evening.
Gruden resigned from a multiyear, $100 million contract to coach the Raiders after his emails were detailed in the Times. Other correspondences showed Gruden denouncing the hiring of women referees and criticism of kneeling during the national anthem.
“I love the Raiders and do not want to be a distraction,” Gruden said in a statement. “Thank you to all the players, coaches, staff, and fans of Raider Nation. I’m sorry, I never meant to hurt anyone.”
