January 1, Democrats’ Patriotism Rings Hollow After Riots

Wyatt’s Take

  • Democrats can’t claim to defend American heritage after supporting its destruction.
  • Their outrage over Trump’s White House changes is just more political theater.
  • Actions speak louder than words, and folks remember where Democrats stood during the riots.

Democrat leaders are upset about President Trump’s recent White House renovations, claiming it disrespects American history. They accuse Trump of attacking the country’s heritage while staging public protests and issuing harsh statements.

Many Americans find this sudden surge of patriotism from Democrats hard to take seriously. For years, they’ve said little when monuments celebrating key figures like George Washington or Abraham Lincoln were vandalized or removed by activists.

Former Obama official David Axelrod went so far as to call the renovations “a gut punch” on social media, but his outrage doesn’t match the silence or approval shown during past acts of destruction. The same pattern showed up when Black Lives Matter and Antifa targeted not just Confederate statues but also monuments to founding fathers and presidents.

As one observer put it, “The display is a statement of not just provocation but subjugation. Ancient armies once put the corpses of their conquered enemies on display to reinforce their defeat; the same is happening here.”

Instead of defending the country’s past during the riots, most Democrats cheered or looked the other way. Now, they want Americans to believe they’re champions of tradition because Trump touched up a building.

For decades, left-wing leaders have used America’s freedoms to push values that go against its founding ideals. This uproar about renovations is just another attempt to fool folks into thinking they’re on the side of American history.

It’s hard for Democrats to claim patriotism when their anti-American actions are fresh in everyone’s memory. If they cared about heritage, they’d address the anti-patriotic behavior in their own ranks—but that’s something they never seem willing to do.

Everyday Americans see through this game and know real love for country isn’t a costume to put on when it’s convenient.
