January 1, Costco Shoppers Sound Off on Kirkland Quality Issues

The widely acclaimed grocery brand of Costco, Kirkland Signature, is often a favorite among savvy shoppers looking for value in their food and beverage purchases. However, according to recent consumer reports, a normally celebrated Kirkland-brand beverage has begun to exhibit a concerning dip in quality.

A disgruntled Costco patron took to Reddit earlier this week, expressing their frustration with the quality of Kirkland Signature Sparkling Water, sold as a variety pack featuring grapefruit, lime, and lemon flavors. Customers buy these 35-count packs, but the issue at hand is that, according to reports, some cans have been devoid of their characteristic fizz.

“Anyone else getting flat cans of Kirkland sparkling waters? Talked to several people and we’re all getting some flat seltzers in 30 packs,” read the Reddit post.

Evidently, this isn’t an isolated problem, as several other shoppers chimed in to share similar experiences with the Kirkland product.

“Yep! I’ve had at least one dud in every other flat since May-ish,” one Redditor mentioned.

“Yes, been getting 1-2 per case,” another confirmed.

However, acknowledging both sides of the coin, not all shoppers have reported issues with the Kirkland sparkling waters. Some Reddit users noted that they’ve only encountered fizz-less cans on a few instances or never had a flat Kirkland seltzer at all.

“I’ve been buying these for 3-4 years and drink 1-2 daily. I’ve never had a flat can,” a satisfied customer shared.

Nonetheless, the recurrent reports of numerous Costco shoppers receiving flat cans in their sparkling water cases suggest this isn’t a sporadic incident. Costco, however, did not immediately comment on the reported quality concerns with the Kirkland Signature Sparkling Water.

Sadly, this isn’t the only product under fire for quality issues. The Kirkland Signature Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks has also come under scrutiny, with consumers complaining about spotting blood and experiencing textural inconsistencies in the crowd-pleasing chicken nuggets.

“I get random nuggs that have hard spots in them. It’s not cartilage either it’s just unnaturally rubbery,” a dissatisfied member mentioned on Reddit.

Newly introduced to Costco’s deli section, the Tandoori Chicken Wraps have likewise faced criticism. Customers bemoan the lack of flavorful intensity, disappointing texture, and steep price.

“It’s nowhere near the intense tandoori flavor I typically get from tandoori chicken. The chicken itself is a bunch of tiny, mushy pieces with barely any texture,” a Redditor lamented. With consumers becoming increasingly vocal about their shopping experiences, it’s clear Costco needs to address these quality concerns sooner rather than later.

I have noticed the lack of carbonation in a number of other sodas as well. Pepsi which I like has also been not only less carbonated but, they go flat in a cup within minutes. Same with Dr Pepper and Mountain Dew. They must all be cheating on the carbonation as a way to save money during this Bidon-Harris administration that have caused prices to increase in all areas. Companies have to at least recoup the money spent even before they can make any profit to stay in business. They like ever day people are just trying to survive till this administration goes away so prices can return to normal again.

I am very disappointed in the change of packaging for the roasted chickens. This new package makes everything greasy to handle, and the chicken itself is lopsided inside the package , just not as neat as the original box that was used!🙁🙁🙁
Is going back to original box possible?
