January 1, Biden Asks Dr. Oz to Resign, Oz Responds

Published

on

President Joe Biden asked Herschel Walker and Mehmet Oz to resign from their posts on the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition or face termination.

Both men were initially appointed by former President Donald Trump in 2018, and reappointed for another two years in December 2020.

Walker and Oz are both running for Republican Senate in this year’s midterm elections. The Biden administration said it’s against their policy for federal candidates to serve on presidential boards.

Oz responded to Biden’s request via a video message.

“The doctor he should ask to resign is Dr. Anthony Fauci for a multitude of obvious reasons,” Oz said. “With that said, I’ve got no intention, my friends, of resigning — none.”

“It’s beyond sad that President Biden would politicize such an important issue like health,” Oz said. “If President Biden wants to politicize health, he’ll have to fire me. Let Americans see how truly petty and political he truly is.”

Both men are to be commended for taking a stand for their convictions.
