January 1, Whistleblowers Exposes Hospital’s Illegal Procedures Amid Federal Retribution

As the largest children’s hospital globally, Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) in Houston isn’t just a beacon of hope for the over four million kids it treats each year. Its conduct and policies also shape practices at other significant pediatric hospitals across the nation.

The alarming revelations coming out of TCH this year, largely thanks to Chris Rufo’s thorough investigative journalism, have stirred up a hornet’s nest. Two courageous whistleblowers have alleged that TCH is misleading the public and possibly violating the law.

First in line was Eithan Haim, a general surgeon, who risked his budding career to bring to light the fact that TCH never actually discontinued its child sex-change program. This is a critical issue since child sex-change procedures and cross-sex hormone treatments are classified as child abuse under Texas law. Keen to avoid criminal legal ramifications, TCH placated public concerns by feigning compliance with the attorney general’s opinion. Hardly had the dust settled when Rufo’s reporting, backed by Haim’s evidence, revealed TCH’s deceit.

It is worth noting that the evidence did not compromise patient privacy but merely confirmed that TCH continued to perform child sex-change-related procedures, contravening the Attorney General’s directive. Some records showed that TCH facilitated an irreversible, non-biodegradable drug delivery implant for an 11-year-old girl who identified as transgender, among other procedures on children aged 11 to 15.

Interestingly, following Rufo’s revelations, the Texas legislature promptly passed a bipartisan bill banning “gender-affirming care” for minors. Haim’s disclosures had clearly struck a nerve.

However, instead of being hailed as a hero for risking his career to prevent child abuse and sterilization, Haim was targeted by the Biden-Harris Department of Justice (DOJ) for alleged HIPAA violations, subsequently indicted and could face up to a decade in prison if convicted.

The contrasting treatment meted out to Haim and the CIA operative who leaked classified recordings of Trump during the Trump era, leading to the first impeachment trial, is worth noting. The operative’s identity protection went to incredible lengths despite his allegations merely being opinions. Meanwhile, brave whistleblowers like Haim face career destruction for revealing the disturbing truth.

Vanessa Sivadge, a nurse formerly employed at TCH has had a similar experience. After alleging fraudulent Medicaid billing for puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, she found herself out of a job. The Biden administration sent federal agents to her home in what appears to be an intimidation tactic for speaking out against “gender-affirming care.”

In a courageous statement, Sivadge declared her termination “worth it,” implying that she stands by her allegations and believes the upcoming Texas Attorney General’s investigation will vindicate her.

The courage displayed by these two whistleblowers and their significant impact underscore the need for more individuals to follow in their footsteps. Their revelations could influence the path ahead for not only Texas Children’s Hospital but also other children’s hospitals that look to TCH for guidance. But for these predators to be finally unmasked, more conscientious whistleblowers need to come forward and shed light on this fraudulent industry.
