January 1, Biden’s staff secretary to leave the White House

White House staff secretary Jessica Hertz is stepping down from her post, sources confirm.
Hertz’s position is one of the most powerful in the Biden administration, as she controlled the stream of documents that made their way to President Biden’s desk. Hertz is one of the first senior staffers to leave the administration.
Hertz, a former lawyer for Facebook, first joined Biden’s team in June 2020 after serving in the Justice Department during the Obama administration.
Several former staff secretaries went on to prominent positions, including Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
Her replacement has yet to be determined.
