January 1, Andrew Yang plans to launch a third political party
Sources confirm former presidential and New York mayoral candidate Andrew Yang plans to launch a third political party next month.
The party’s launch will likely correlate with the Oct. 5 release of the new book, Forward: Notes on the Future of Our Democracy.
The party’s name is currently unknown, along with how Yang plans to implement the party in the upcoming 2022 and 2024 elections.
Yang centered his presidential platform around universal basic income, in which citizens would receive a monthly $1,000 check from the government. The nominal policy put Yang in a political no man’s land and won over many apolitical figures, who called themselves the “Yang Gang.”

That policy has proven not to work as people stay at home and don’t bother to go to work as the Government pays them anyway. Then the whole econ9my collapses. You can’t build a party on a policy known not to work.
