January 1, Trump Drops BOMBSHELL Endorsement Hours Before Georgia Showdown

Wyatt’s Take
- President Trump just threw his full weight behind MAGA warrior Mike Collins in Georgia’s Senate runoff—proving once again he’s the kingmaker the establishment fears most
- This race isn’t just about one Senate seat—it’s about whether the GOP keeps its majority and whether Trump’s America First movement continues crushing the old guard
- The fact Trump waited until the 11th hour tells you everything: he’s forcing voters to choose between his vision and the establishment’s tired playbook
President Donald Trump made a powerful last-minute move Saturday, endorsing Rep. Mike Collins in Georgia’s critical Republican Senate runoff just days before voters head to the polls Tuesday. The stakes couldn’t be higher—this race is one of a handful that will determine whether Republicans hold their slim Senate majority come November.
Collins, a rock-solid MAGA champion who’s never wavered in supporting the president, faces off against Derek Dooley, a former college football coach backed by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp. The winner takes on Democrat Senator Jon Ossoff in what Republicans see as their best shot at flipping a Senate seat this cycle.
“Mike Collins has been with me from day one,” Trump said in his endorsement. “He’s a fighter for Georgia families, a defender of our borders, and someone who will never back down from the radical left. We need Mike in the Senate—vote Tuesday!”
Collins represents Georgia’s 10th Congressional District between Atlanta and Augusta. He’s the son of the late Rep. Mac Collins and runs a trucking company with his wife—a real business owner who understands what working Americans face every day.
Dooley, a lawyer and son of legendary University of Georgia football coach Vince Dooley, has leaned heavily on his friendship with Governor Kemp. The governor and Georgia First Lady Marty Kemp have campaigned alongside Dooley repeatedly, and Kemp’s top political advisor is helping run Dooley’s campaign.
The two men finished at the top of a crowded primary field that included Rep. Buddy Carter. Since neither broke 50%, they’re battling it out in Tuesday’s runoff.
While Collins has proudly displayed his America First credentials throughout his career, Trump stayed neutral—until now. His Saturday endorsement sends an unmistakable signal to Georgia Republicans about who truly represents the MAGA movement.
Dooley has tried to paint himself as the outsider and Collins as a political insider. Collins has fired back, questioning Dooley’s lack of political experience and pointing out he’s lived outside Georgia for much of his adult life.
Both candidates carry some baggage. The House Ethics Committee has been investigating Collins over allegations involving a district office intern. Collins has denied wrongdoing and maintains the staffer did legitimate work.
That staffer was later fired after posting an offensive social media message mocking the wife of a Dooley campaign advisor. Collins apologized immediately, calling the tweet “despicable and unauthorized.”
Dooley faced his own controversy this past week when reports surfaced alleging a “pay to play” scandal involving his brother Daniel Dooley and Governor Kemp. Both Dooley and Kemp deny any wrongdoing, though Democrats in the state legislature have demanded an independent investigation.
While the Republicans have battled each other for months, Democrat Jon Ossoff has quietly built a massive war chest that will give him a significant fundraising advantage heading into the general election. Republicans know Ossoff is vulnerable—but they need the right candidate to take him down.
Trump’s influence is being tested in another Georgia runoff as well, where his pick, Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, is fighting billionaire businessman Rick Jackson for the GOP gubernatorial nomination to succeed Kemp.
The president’s endorsement power has been on full display recently. His candidates knocked out incumbents in Indiana, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Texas in high-profile primary battles that grabbed national headlines.
But Trump’s winning streak hit a snag two weeks ago in Iowa, where his late endorsement of Rep. Randy Feenstra wasn’t enough. Feenstra narrowly lost to Zach Lahn, a businessman backed by the MAHA movement aligned with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Turning Point USA.
Trump bounced back last week when his endorsed candidate in South Carolina’s GOP gubernatorial primary, Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, finished first in a crowded field and advanced to the runoff.
Meanwhile, longtime Trump ally Senator Lindsey Graham won his Republican Senate primary outright, avoiding a runoff entirely. Graham faced five challengers, including conservative businessman Mark Lynch, who attacked the senator over his support for the war in Iran.
Tuesday’s Georgia runoff will show whether Trump’s endorsement still carries the kingmaker power it’s had for years—or whether the establishment wing of the party is making a comeback.
Wyatt Matters
This isn’t just about one Senate seat in Georgia. It’s about whether the Republican Party stays loyal to the America First agenda that working families voted for, or slides back into the country club politics that got us nowhere for decades. When Trump backs a candidate, he’s backing someone who’ll fight for your job, your paycheck, and your freedom—not someone who’ll cut deals with the swamp the minute they get to Washington. Georgia voters have a choice: a proven MAGA warrior who understands what Main Street needs, or another politician with all the right connections but none of the guts to stand up to the left. The choice should be crystal clear.
