January 1, Court Ruling Stops State Bid to Unmask ICE Agents

Wyatt’s Take

  • California’s No Vigilantes Act was blocked for trying to interfere with federal immigration enforcement.
  • The court ruled that states cannot directly regulate how federal officers carry out their duties.
  • The decision protects ICE agents from being forced to reveal personal identifiers while on duty.

California liberals just got a harsh lesson in constitutional law after trying to bully federal agents. An appeals court blocked a state law that would have forced ICE agents to wear visible IDs and unmask while on duty.

This law was a blatant attempt to put a target on the backs of those protecting our borders. The judges rightly ruled that a state cannot dictate how the federal government does its job.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that California’s No Vigilantes Act violated the U.S. Constitution.

Judge Mark Bennett, a Trump appointee, wrote the opinion for the court.

“We conclude that § 10 of the No Vigilantes Act attempts to directly regulate the United States in its performance of governmental functions.”

“The Supremacy Clause forbids the State from enforcing such legislation.”

The law would have required federal agents to display their names or badge numbers plus their agency name on their uniforms.

Failing to comply would have been charged as a misdemeanor in the state of California.

The court found that the state was trying to control how federal officers perform their law enforcement operations.

This decision comes after a period of intense anti-ICE demonstrations across California.

“Section 10 of the No Vigilantes Act attempts to directly regulate the federal government in its performance of law enforcement operations.”

“It seeks to control their conduct in performing law enforcement operations.”

The Department of Justice recently arrested several people for violence against law enforcement during anti-ICE protests.

This ruling ensures that state politicians cannot use local laws to sabotage federal immigration enforcement efforts.

Wyatt Matters

The rule of law matters more than radical state politics. Working families want safe borders and protected officers, not state-sponsored harassment of the men and women who keep illegal activity in check.

The filthy Communist scum in this country don’t need to know this identity information. Since the Communists now use murder to eliminate political opponents, there is no need to put ICE law enforcer’s lives in danger to protect scumbag illegal criminals!
